The Best Products To Mix For A Flawless Faux Glow
When I am tan, I am a different person. Happier, more easy going, (seemingly) skinnier…
Two or three times a month (when I have a tv thing or a special event), I indulge in a professional spray tan, but in between appointments, I “cocktail” these products to give me a daily summer faux glow that I customize as needed to have a glowy, caramel bronze from forehead to feet:
Coola Sunless Tan Anti-Aging Serum + IT Cosmetics Gel Lotion
3 drops of this serum every morning after washing my face, mixed with a couple drops of the lightweight gel lotion maintains a hydrated, gradual build tan. Since I use an SPF cream as the next layer of my skincare routine, I like the lightweight combo of the serum and gel lotion, especially in the hot summer months.
St. Tropez One Night Only Finishing Body Gloss + Ahava Dry Oil Body Mist
I have sworn by this bronzing body gloss for years (and it is probably one of the most oft clicked on items I write about here!)- it imparts an instant high shine with the perfect touch of bronze and it doesn’t rub off on my clothes. The reason I mix it with the oil mist (I mix in my palm then slather on skin) is that my skin gets really dry and the oil helps the product glide on much more smoothly and adds just the right extra bit of glassy glow.
Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer
This one is used solo- but depending on my level of paleness, I vary the frequency- daily at first to build a base, and then every other day. It seems weird to put a tanning product on wet skin before you even towel off, but it works. The water helps the product to evenly distribute so you don’t end up with streaks.
Do you mix your own store-bought products to create a custom blend? Do tell. xx JF
