My Dyson Airwrap Review

The Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler has been on my “gotta try” list for a LONG time, but it took me a while to pull the trigger on the $549.99 price tag. I wanted to hate it. I even kept the shipping box in my closet for 2 weeks in (hopeful) anticipation of returning it, and seeing the charge refunded to my credit card so I could forget the whole thing ever happened.

Well, let me proclaim it here, loud and clear:

I AM MADLY IN LOVE WITH THE DYSON AIRWRAP, AND IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!

Yup. Here are 5 reasons why:

1- It can be used on damp or dry hair. The curls last longer for me when I use it on hair that is 70% dry, but if I want to get some waves in a pinch, I can just use my go-to Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray on work through sections to get a great bouncy style.

2- The Complete Styler set has every single attachment you will ever need. While I will most often use the smaller curling barrels on myself, I love the Volumizing brush attachment to create body and bend the ends, and when my girls want me to blowout their hair, I use the Firm Smoothing brush on Alexa’s fine hair, and the Soft Smoothing brush on Goldie’s unruly, frizz-prone curls.

3- The “cool air” option is easy to enable while using the dryer with a simple flick of the finger, and that cold blast of air definitely helps to maintain the bounce and curl longer than usual.

4- There are SO. MANY. TUTORIALS. If you search around on Instagram or YouTube, you will find so many super helpful demos of different ways to use the Airwrap attachments and cool styling hacks to create all kinds of professional-quality looks. One of the benefits of being a product with a devoted, international cult following!

5- Even when it’s bad, it’s good. Some days, I am more precise than others with dividing my hair in sections and methodically curling inch by inch. But even when I am distracted by other things and slightly sloppy in my technique, the result looks 100 times better than it would otherwise.
