Treat Yourself: My Favorite Everyday Jewelry Under $300
So, there is a jewelry boutique in Westport called Monarch Market. It is owned by my friend Haley, and it is freaking amazing. Like, every piece is cool and trendy but also timeless and wearable- and I want it ALL. And everything is up on the website now, so even if you aren’t in my neck of the woods (Fairfield County, CT.) you can still shop what is arguably the best curation of brands at a wide range of price points HERE.
Monarch Market has introduced Jane Win to every cool girl in town- her oversized gold pendant charms affixed to chunky chains elevate the old school charm necklace to statement status. One of my favorites that I discovered via a trunk show Monarch Market hosted a couple years ago is Rachel Reid- dying to add these cute mushroom studs to my earring collection sometime soon. Haley also is the go-to for delicate Gigi Clozeau chains with beads in every color under the sun. And the list goes on…
Personally, I have learned a ton about accessorizing from watching how Haley styles herself by layering jewelry. There is something effortlessly cool about the seemingly haphazard yet totally pulled together combo of oversized hoop earrings with teeny tiny studs stacked up the ear, and 3 or 5 necklaces at a time layered on top of each other in varying lengths and weights. And don’t get me started on the bracelets! A mish mash of dainty chains and woven bracelets, structured cuffs and stretchy beaded stacks- it’s perfection!
As a beginner in the art of curating a “neck mess”/”arm party”/”ear game”, I am constantly keeping an eye out for pieces that can create both the foundation of an everyday look as well as the pops of fun and whimsy that, when layered together, allow you to express your own unique style or mood. It is super fun- and a smart way to make a basic jeans and t-shirt uniform feel fresh and new.
Below I have assembled 10 of my favorite everyday jewelry staples under $300. Each piece is amazing on it’s own, but also not intimidating to mix, match and layer in a million different ways. These gold hoops, paperclip chains, oversized charms and more are the epitome of “better basics”- timeless yet never ever boring! Each one is an investment that you can make now and know that it will evolve with you, year after year. Sure, there is a place and time for trendy costume jewelry- I myself love those fun bits of flair- but there is something about classic pieces- especially in times like this with a shaky economy and inflation on the rise- that always feels smart, sophisticated and yes, very VERY stylish!
