Oh, 2020. The year that face masks became second only to our iPhones when leaving the house. For me, to be honest, it was VERY hard to get used to seeing people wearing masks. I avoided going many places from March through May just because the visual of masks bothered me so much, I wanted to jump out of my skin and shield my kids’ eyes from what I can best describe as the “Handmaid’s Tale” vibe of the whole situation. I never doubted the importance of masks, or questioned the validity of the “mask up” movement, it just took me some time to normalize the new normal, I guess. Now, it doesn’t phase me a bit to see a line of people waiting to get into Trader Joe’s at 9am donning masks- and beyond that, I have come to embrace the innovative, stylish masks and mask accessories to be discovered.

So, as we head into the holiday season, committed to staying safe and masking up, figured it was time to share some of my favorite masks, mask chains and other mask-related innovations to get you through the next few months in style:

- Jill & Ally Beaded Mask Chain: This just makes me smile- colorful and happy, reminds me of the fun beaded bracelets I used to make and wear as a kid!

- Athleta Mask Bag: Smart way to keep your mask clean and safe when you aren’t wearing it, love it for outdoor walks and runs.

- Athleta Mask 3 Pack: My husband got these for our girls when he saw a line out the door of our local Athleta of people clamoring for them- they are so soft, breathable and the stretchy, comfy elastic has an easy-release notch so it never gets tangled in hair!

- Andy & Evan Disposable Face Masks: Some days, especially if I am going to be in a mask for many consecutive hours, a disposable mask feels the most comfortable for me, but I feel silly in the light blue- like I am trying to pretend I am a medical professional when clearly, I am not. All the fun patterns on these stylish disposable masks make me happy- my girls LOVE them too. We keep a stash of them at all times in our Mask Command Center for guests as well.

- Baublebar Mask Chain: This can be both a mask chain AND a necklace- which feels optimistic, right? Delicate but not fragile, I love the pearl details.

- Anti-Tightening Mask Strap: If your ears hurt after a day of mask-wearing, you need these! So easy to use, my 5 year old is a huge fan too- just wrap the ends of the ear loops around the notches in the plastic strip and you can wear your mask around the back of your head, leaving your ears free!

- 4 Pack of Silk Masks from Amazon: Less pricey than most, and super soft and shiny, I love the color options so much! Great to buy the set, keep one and gift the others in a creative holiday bundle for your friends.

- Lele Sadoughi Mask and Headband Set: Because of course the queen of headband culture would figure out how to level this look up, right? Love.

- Kira Kira Rainbow Mask Chain: Best colors, and can work as both a mask chain and a sunglass chain. When I eventually go on a beach vacation, I know this is the sunglass chain I am gonna wish I had- this is a perfect excuse to buy it now.

- Sequin Disco Face Mask: Holiday-ready, and under $30! Comes in 3 shimmering shades, this is the ultimate glam holiday face mask for 2020.

-Slip Pink Kiss Silk Mask : People are obsessed with these soft, slinky silk masks, from the brand that brought us the cult favorite good-for-your-skin silk pillowcases.

- Personalized Beaded Mask Chain: Featured in my Today Show Personalized Gift Guide segment, these custom chains are so elegant and well-priced!

-Beanie with Mask Buttons: It gets to be a LOT- the hat, the mask, the sunglasses, etc- this smart $14 beanie lets you attach your mask to the sides, and comes in like 14 colors! Especially awesome for kids- my 9 year old gets so annoyed trying to keep her mask in place while de-layering at school on cold days.

- Rainbow Face Mask: A cheerful statement that I couldn’t resist adding to the mix.

- Amanda Uprichard Silk Mask: Well priced, and more substantial than many silk masks I have found. Plus, love that the straps are silk, too.

- Jill & Ally Mask Set: Okay, I definitely didn’t expect to love these masks- from afar, they didn’t look different than tons of others out there, and I am always a little skeptical of reality tv product spin offs. But, the joke is on me. Since getting a delivery of these masks to try, I really haven’t work anything else. The cotton feels so soft, they fit perfectly around my face, and they legit have ever color option you could want, EVER. In spite of myself, I am a huge fan of the Jill & Ally face masks.

-Bow Tie Mask: I mean, how could I not share this fun Etsy find?! A traditional mask from the front, a statement making hair bow from the back. Genius!
