Scrub a Dub Dub: Tree Hut Coconut Lime Shea Sugar Body Scrub
When it comes to my job, I consider myself to be both thorough and consistent. So I can very much appreciate a body scrub that holds up to the same performance standards. Which is why it REALLY annoys me when I have to WORK to make a product, well, work.
For example- a body scrub. I find it quite irritating when I unscrew the top of the jar only to discover that all the scrubbie-bits (technical term, clearly) have sunk to the bottom, leaving me with a choice: slather myself in oil and let my best intentions of getting a good sloughing wait til another day, or stick my finger in the jar and sweep around furiously in an effort to perfectly combine the aforementioned scrubbie-bits with the oil so as to make a product that is both spreadable AND effective.
The lovely Meghan Donovan (check out her style blog, Wit & Whimsy, when you have a chance) introduced me to Tree Hut a couple months ago- specifically encouraging me to give their Coconut Lime Shea Sugar Body Scrub a try. It took me a while to get around to it- in all honesty, I typically don't gravitate towards natural brands, and in even more honesty, I get a little lazy when it comes to the head-to-toe exfoliation thing. But, after a self-tan snafu that left my legs looking leopard-esque and my husband appalled as a result, I opened up my beauty trunk and gave it a whirl.
If you are looking for the perfectly concocted scrub, ladies, this is it. It goes on like honey- easy to spread yet substantial enough to give you "play time" on the skin to work with the sugar grains (which I guess is a more accurate way to say scrubbie bits) and slough off dull, dead skin. It never requires in-shower muscle- the product stays perfectly mixed down to the very last drop. And it smells like summer, but in a subtle enough way that you can use it year round without making yourself depressed about not being at the beach each time to take a whiff.
On top of this, the price is right- I found it on Amazon for $7.49 and here is a list of other retailers that carry the line.
