I am so into this wash of my favorite everyday high-rise skinny Madewell jeans.

(Note: This is an updated version of original Madewell Jeans Buying Guide post from February 2020)

I have been wearing Madewell 10” high rise skinny jeans on constant rotation since a friend- who at the time worked for the company as a regional district manager- told me about them, like an inside secret, at another friend’s wedding. I just checked to see how long ago that was and as it turns out, our friend got married in May of 2008.

So I have been devoted to Madewell jeans for 12 freaking years. Therefore, I felt it was prime time to share my thoughts with a little Madewell jeans review to help anyone interested in them. So let’s get into it.

My Madewell Jeans Buying Guide

Sizing:

As far as sizing, I always size down. So, while I usually go for a 27 in department store/high end denim brands, I am a pretty consistent 26 in Madewell jeans. And even when the scale jumps up a bit, it never makes too big of a difference in the fit or comfort- to be honest, at those times, I just wash them less frequently.

Style Category:

My go-to is, yes, the 10” inch high rise skinny style category- however, I also LOVE this pair of 11” high rises because the wash is amazing and it is great to have as an option when wearing more cropped shirts or sweaters.

The Best Madewell Jeans

Repurchased this flattering 10” high rise dark wash style in November because the ones I got years and years ago had finally given in to the ebbs and flows of weight fluctuations.

Definitely trying these “summerweight” skinny jeans - perfect length for flip flops and love that they are so lightweight, will be great in August- keeps bugs off my legs and won’t make me feel like I am sitting in a furnace!

My all-time winning pair? THESE. Made of the most soft-to-the-touch denim woven with TENCEL™ lyocell, they literally feel like buttery leggings. These are jeans I have worn on overnight flights, on “fat days”, and opted to stay in when coming home after a long day instead of switching out for sweatpants.

The Hamden wash high rise skinny is perfectly worn at the ankles and the whiskering at the hips gives a good vintage feel. Perfect year-round staple, and a bit of a more weighty denim material than many of the similar styles.

The Hayes wash is super slimming, classic deep indigo dark denim and probably the pair I have owned the longest and wear the most frequently.
