12 Beauty Picks Worth Buying From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The only things I have ever bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale come from the beauty department. Items that never go on sale are deeply discounted, there are smartly assembled value sets, and the purchases are always worth it. Back in the day, when I was a publicist and Nordstrom Beauty was one of my clients, strategizing the best way to promote the beauty offerings was always one of my favorite tasks. We would wait all year for that sneak peek, months before the sale, of the value sets and exclusives we could share with the media. I still get that same sense of excitement- and these items are currently in my “Wish List” cart (I don’t have a Nordstrom Credit Card, so therefore have to wait until Aug 19 to shop the sale- so until then, keeping a wish list at the ready on the Nordstrom site so I can purchase when I am able to. You should do the same!!!)
This year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale beauty offerings are, in my opinion, some of the best yet- instead of gimmicky/cute factor products that will go unused, the retailer truly went all-in on securing exclusives and value deals on the products that we USE (and by “we”, I guess I mean “me” but I imagine if you are reading this, “we” have very similar taste!).
Here are the 12 beauty offerings at the 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I personally use, love and recommend over and over again:
1- Every influencer swears by THIS MIRROR. I splurged on it in April and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Adjustable lighting, and a magnetic magnifying mirror for detail work (or tweezing) as well as a magnetic phone mount for filming tutorials or following them, hands free!
2- I always post about my T3 interchangeable barrel curling iron, and THIS CURLING IRON comes with the barrel I use pretty much exclusively anyway for waves and it is majorly marked down!
3- Giant sizes of the TWO ORIBE BEST-SELLERS that everyone stockpiles- I can’t style my hair without the best-selling Dry Texturizing Spray, I go through a bottle every couple of months!
4- Just ran out of my beloved OLAPLEX PRODUCTS, so this is an instant ADD TO CART- if you have highlighted/dry/damaged hair, there is NOTHING better. It used to be a salon-only thing, and so happy the brand introduced an assortment at retail too.
5- My husband and oldest daughter are hard core devoted to spray sunscreens from the neck down, and we go through them like water. THIS TRIO FROM SUPERGOOP is an insanely good value- can be applied on wet or dry skin (KEY!) and the dispensing technology allows you to spray from every angle and use the product up to the last drop.
6- Finally gonna bite the bullet and invest in a SKIN-FIRMING LIGHTSTIM LED DEVICE. All the girls I know with the best skin swear by it, so it’s gotta be good. I have never seen it on sale (EVER!) so this is major- $167, usually $249.
7- I have used the cream-to-sheen eyeshadows from Charlotte Tilbury religiously for over 4 years- they provide the best light wash of luminescence for your lids, stay on all day and night and just look PERFECT every time. Simple to apply with fingertips, and great also as a base under powder shadows, THIS VALUE SET has the 2 universally flattering shades that I love most, plus a best-selling mascara.
8- Diptyque candles are some of the best- and the fact that 5 of the all-time most beloved fragrances are included in this gift set of minis makes it a BUY-IN-BULK-WORTHY GIFT to give or keep for yourself to instantly upgrade any guest room/powder room/desktop to 5 star hotel status.
9- At first I was skeptical of all the Nécessaire buzz, but then I tried it. And now, I am super excited to re-stock my shower stash (as will my friends who I have gifted extra samples to over the years and they too have become devoted re-purchasers!) These NATURAL BEAUTY & WELLNESS BODY PRODUCTS are free of sulfates, phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, mineral oil, silicone and talc; also free of drying alcohols, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, coal tar and chemical screens.
10- Ok, so here is why I think you should get the NUFACE TRINITY FACIAL TONING KIT over the other Nordstrom Anniversary Sale NuFace offering (bundle of the NuFace Mini and NuFace FIX device): The Trinity can be used with the interchangeable add-on attachments- and the Mini/Fix can’t. It is the most perfect rosy pink hue, go with a coat of the gloss for everyday wear, the lipstick is instant polish, and I often do the liner with a dab of the gloss on top for long lasting but in a youthful, natural way color.
